Emotions. They're my drive for photography—the only moments where I allow them to cloud my logic. My photographs say everything I’m too scared to say or cannot put into words. They don’t force people to listen. They are only for those who want to know and want to understand—for those who grasp the trepidation that comes with sharing their inner thoughts.

My images often depict nature and mundane objects that have special or symbolic meanings to me. This is something I see in Will Matsuda and Gia Sergovich’s photographs. They take photographs of everyday things and instill a warmth that viewers wouldn’t have noticed before.  Likewise, I seek to instill emotion through the hidden beauty of seemingly bland things. A hidden beauty that can be seen whether the photograph is in black-and-white or in color because every filter offers each viewer different tones and symbolic meanings.
