I was never one to take photos of anything, no matter the occasion. But after the pandemic hit, everything changed, including the way I saw myself and the world around me. I started to appreciate the little things the outside world has to offer. Now, being able to go outside and resume life, I find myself traveling with an intuitive urge to take photos of nature, flowers, alleyways, and people. My work relishes in vivid color, changing the way people see everyday things, one photo at a time. Texas Isaiah and Eliot Porter capture this well in their work, using color to bring attention to their subject matter, thus influencing my practice. Color is that little cherry on top of all things visual in life, making everything around us stand out.
